Step out of Time – Go on! There is nothing to lose:

the wheels are turning and there is no returning

and no reason to go back at all. It’s gone.

and all of creation, without pausing

to tally the results of its endless journey.

When the calendar year begins, there can be a great temptation to rush in and start afresh. Suddenly all has to change - and we leap into action. But what is moving in nature? How do trees or rivers or birds react to a new year? Do they change from one day to the next? Or do they stay awhile in Winter and take time as the days lengthen? If you were an animal or a plant right now, what would you wish to do? How would you be with this season, however it is where you are…

We are in a time of change. We are always in a time of change, but sometimes we may feel it more keenly. Sometimes it is easy and sometimes very hard. Whatever change is with us now, we can stand with it, speak to it, and allow it to teach us.

Sometimes change happens slowly. It can be so gradual it is hard to even notice. We may think nothing much is different, but if we stop and look back, we find a lot more.
