THE POWER OF PEACE

JANUARY 2026

Many years ago, Jonathan asked the Spirits what course to teach for an anniversary, and they gave him a new one called Shamanism, Peace & Power. Since then, it has been taught many times in different countries. At first, Jonathan wasn’t sure how it would work, but the Spirits said they would teach him. Through receiving it and offering it, we have continued to learn about the Power that Peace can hold, how to work with Power from a place of Peace, and how to work with Peace in powerful ways. The Spirits keep teaching us, showing us new perspectives and deeper insights.

We may sometimes get caught in preconceived ideas of what “Peace” is or isn’t, what we think it can or cannot do, what we expect from it or not. Working with the Spirits, we experience Peace from their point of view, and our sense of it expands. It becomes personal and possible in new ways.

The first step is to remember that a connection can be made. Even when we are tired or scared, we can remember that Peace is walking with us. We can breathe and make space for Peace in our hearts. We can ask for help to get to know Peace, and cultivate a more intimate relationship with it. To learn to partner with the Spirit of Peace instead of seeing it as an abstract concept. Wherever we are, we can ask for help to bring more Peace into our hearts.  Then it can open and blossom into something tangible and real in our lives.

You may have heard of the current Peace Walk in the USA, by Buddhist monks moving slowly and steadily from Texas to Washington, DC. They embody Peace in their every step – focusing not so much on a destination, but the felt sense of carrying Peace with them, and sharing it, as they walk. The impact they are having on the thousands who come to spend time with them shows a heartfelt longing for Peace. That this walk is happening at a time when world tensions are high is not an accident. This is the time to make room for Peace to be here with us in our souls

When faced with violence and aggressive action, connecting to the Power of Peace can help us stand more firmly rooted. It can help us stay connected to ourselves and our heart-values in times of fear, uncertainty and instability.

The Spirits have taught us that Peace is not passive. Peace is active. Peace is not submissive. Peace is strong. Peace is a practice. The Spirits have shown us how we can connect deeply to the Power that Peace brings, and how that Power can help us be more present in the world.

This year, Jonathan and Zara will hold space in free monthly Peace Circles online. It will be a time to gather and open. Not to try to solve all problems, but allow ways to connect to Peace in ourselves, and help us walk more consciously, wherever we are.

You can read more about Peace and Power in the blog from April 2025, and listen to our talk on Shamanism, Peace and Power

** SHAMANIC INSPIRATION:

Working with Peace from a Spirit-inspired perspective means we come to learn about it in ways we may not expect.

This requires us to open our hearts to a new understanding and relationship with Peace. There is much to learn when we ask to see it from the perspective of the Spirits.

We do not need to be perfect in carrying Peace in our hearts. We just have to try, to keep remembering that it is possible. Peace in our hearts does not mean that we do not cry or feel pain or longing. It means that Peace is our steady companion on the road of Life.

We can choose to walk together and learn about staying connected in different situations. We can stay steady and strong in our knowledge that always, in some part of our being, in some part of our life and our breath, Peace is with us. We remember that we can always ask the Spirits to teach us more about the many possibilities of Peace.

We hope these missions, for journeys or medicine walks, will help you to experience it more directly:

  • What is my next step in cultivating a deeper relationship with Peace?

  • What part of my life needs to connect with the Power of Peace?

  • Ask for help to walk with Peace in the world
